Amazon Prime Days: What I Am Getting

Probably nothing.
Hear me out.
I don't really need anything.
Sure, I could actually use replacing my beat up skillets, and I am missing 'the right size' pot or two. I have been pining for an additional knife, the Shun Nakiri knife, because I chop a lot of veggies and get tired of constantly rewashing my chef's knife. And I truly would appreciate an actual office chair, since right now I just have a chair from the living room which gets uncomfortable after a while. And one of those retractable garden hoses would certainly make my life easier. I would get a lot of use of a outdoor dining set on my patio, and a large umbrella for shade, since it is impossible to enjoy my patio without it after 3pm. I know my mom would love a cool new puzzle to work on, my niece owning another unicorn anything, and really, my Amazon wishlist is hundreds of items long.

Yet, I have not gotten anything during Amazon Prime Days last July, the July before or the July before that.
My skillets still have life in them. They are stained, but have no major scratches. I have lived without the Nakiri knife for 3 years, and I am not losing any sleep over it. Office chair purchase is more pressing because I have chronic back pain, but for the most part I move around to work in different spaces of my house so I am not stuck in it. My current garden hose works just fine at no extra cost. My outdoor dining set might have to wait till end-of-summer closeouts or I will just entertain sitting on my current large outdoor sofa, like I have done for years.
Sure I am capable of girl-mathing my way through any purchase, but I am trying to maintain a healthy perspective on what I truly need - or more so, what I truly want to prioritize.
And my priority is on the next trip with a friend, on visiting family in Europe in fall, on having $$$ to put into savings.
Okay, I may get that outdoor umbrella after all - I love hosting friends over and sitting outside is too difficult without good shade in LA summer (check back after Prime days to find out!).
Now you are probably asking: aren't you an influencer for Amazon products? Are you actually talking us out of making purchases of the items you recommend?
Not at all.
What I am suggesting instead is a restrained approach. A thoughtful acquisition instead of a shopping frenzy. Your future wallet and slightly emptier landfills will thank you.
And I am here to guide you through whatever you need (or girl-math) next.
xoxo
